Garmin Map Updates and ActiveCaptain problems

Brand new stuff, just installed yesterday. 942xs, 18HD+, GT23M. After installed I went through all the setup stuff on the unit and it was all working well. I setup the ActiveCaptain app and it was working well also. It told me there was a software update, went through all that, and it worked well also.
Now, in reading through the Garmin stuff online and watching their setup videos again, It seemed as if I was supposed to use Garmin Express for something. I downloaded Garmin Express. Once I logged in it said I had a map update to G3 v2019.0. This is where the problem starts. I clicked the update and I had my blank 32gb micro SD card. I downloaded the map update overnight last night to the card.
Now here are the issues:
- ActiveCaptain, on my iphone, now won't allow me to download panels of the chart to my phone's app. It still lets me download areas of quickdraw though.
- I tried to install the new charts on the 942 and it tells me there is insufficient space to update the internal charts
- Syncing ActiveCaptain between the phone and unit is a nightmare. It automatically starts each sync. It starts with QuickDraw sync, gets about 30% finished and then it switches and starts the ActiveCaptain Community sync and stops the quickdraw sync. Gets about 30% through that, stops, cancels, and switches back to QuickDraw sync. It's a neverending cycle and never finished either one.
Can I turn off the ActiveCaptain Community auto sync somehow? How in the heck can I get the app to let me download chart panels again?
I'll try to upload pics.

When I was having issues with active captain map downloads and transfers (the maps would display funky on the garmin) , deleting the app and reinstalling fixed the problem for me.
You can turn off QuickDraw sync in the Garmin within the Active captain shortcut or settings menu on the unit.

ActiveCaptain is not working properly, Garmin knows it, not sure when they’ll have it fixed?
I bought the G3 2019 update, but I can’t get the tiles to upload on the charts.
Come on Garmin, time to get this fixed!

Seems like there is major problems with the 2019 maps right now.
For the OP with the insignificant space for the built in map updates, the card will have to remain installed in the unit.

Thought I screwed something up since it all worked properly before the map update. Makes me feel better I’m not the only one.
Not too worried about having to leave to G3 chip in it. Not a big deal since it has 2 slots anyway.

I have been having AC issues as well and Garmin knows and is working on it. Right now it is working fine with software updates but I stopped working with mapping last week. Having the same issues as others with map timer warnings and no tile downloads.

A new version of ActiveCaptain appeared on the AppStore yesterday. Alas there are still problems. Chart tiles begin downloading but fail about ½ way through. I've been able to successfully download only one tile. A message to Garmin support goes unanswered.

Same here. I did get a response from Garmin, still working on it.

Good to know. I was about to lose my mind trying to download the tiles onto my phone and IPad so I can do routes off of the boat and then sync them to the plotter.

It didn't work a few days ago. Uninstalled it, reinstalled but still no go. Last night it started working. It might have installed the AC update since it does it automatically.
I run currently AC 14.2.359 on my iphone. Checked my ipad as well and its working there too.

14.2.359 is the latest version on the App store and it is still hosed for me. I finally got the obligatory "we're working on it" message from Garmin. If yours started working, they must be propagating a solution on the back-end.

Mines working now to install tiles on my AC chart. Did not work until I busted out a 32 gig card and downloaded the map off Garmin Express. I never messed with Express hardly ever but that was the key for issue.
