Default Simrad Go7XSE & Garmin GPSMAP741 - on the same transom

Hello:
I would like to compare the performance at the same time of my Simrad GO7 xse with totalscan with a new to me Garmin GPSMAP 741xs with a Garmin GT23M-TM transducer.
The Simrad Transducer is mounted on the starboard side and appears to work at speed without a problem.
Question: Would I be better off mounting the Garmin Transducer on the port side or the adjacent to the Simrad? I fully realize that I probably can not operate both at the same time due to interference.
