Default Fuel Flow Sensor Or 2006 Suzuki Interface Cable

Hey Hull Truth Family. I’d like to know what my fuel usage is by adding fuel flow sensors.

I have a Raymarine C120 on my boat that is capable of engine interface. Unfortunately Suzuki does not make the cables I need any longer in order to do so. Unless someone on this forum has a pair of cables they’d like to sell me?

I’m looking at inline fuel flow sensors. The only two I see for sale are from Lowrance and Garmin. With those linked to a NMEA 2000 network, will the show accurate data on my Raymarine? Or do they need to be connected to a Lowrance or Garmin in order to be properly configured? I can’t seem to find much on connecting to my older unit in the forums, other than with older fuel flow sensors that are currently no longer available.

Thanks in advance.

I went through this same decision process. I ended up with the Suzuki Data Cable for my 2008 Suzuki DF250 directly into my NMEA 2000 network. I had a older single Lowrance and now have new twin Simrads. Works the same.

I found it much more accurate than the fuel flow sensor I had previously. Tank fill-ups are exactly the same as what the MFD says I burned.

I'm sure you can find a data cable for the 2006 Suzuki. There are a few vendors here and others that will chime in and help with that.

Thanks Reeltime3979. I tried calling a bunch of Suzuki dealers to see if they’ve had any come off of boats being repowered. No luck so far.

Hi Moonlighter475, good idea but no luck. I called them a couple days ago, they said it’s a mistake and they don’t actually have ome in stock.

I don't want you chasing a goose on this, but Browns Point Marine has been a good go-to place for answers. If they don't have one, they may know who would.

They usually have a “waiting list” so see if you can get on it!

Beyond that the bigger Suzuki dealers who do lots of repowers are your best chance.

We cant even get the old cables here in Aus any more.

Re the Lowrance in line fuel flow sensors, they do have to be configured and calibrated using a Lowrance head unit. The other issue is that at idle speeeds, the fuel flow from your Suzuki is so low that the flow sensor will not read it. See the specs and you will see. If you do not do much slow trolling or idling around this may not make much difference to fuel data. However if ypu do, it will make fuel data inaccurate.
