Default Garmin HD+ or xHD

Getting ready to purchase a radar unit to replace my Furuno 1715 (already sold); either a Garmin GMR 18 HD+ or the GMR 18 xHD. Going on a 21 Contender/ TTop…… will network with a 840xs, 741xs,7608xsv, GCV-10. Do not care about spotting birds; main concern is fog, night fishing; going with Garmin for overlay....any input would be appreciated. A couple of friends recommend the HD+ as a better value......not interested in spending the extra cash for a Fantom.

XHD gives you dual range.. All other performance and features are the same.

The GMR18xHD has a 48NM mile range..the GMR18+ has a 36 NM mile range.
The GMR 18xHD has dual range and also a no transmit zone.
