Default Customizing screen view on 7612

Im getting pretty good with braceing my fingers above the 7612 so I can adjust the plus and minus symbols in the middle right side of the screen, to zoom in and out. But it would be a lot easier if I could move those symbols higher up near the top right corner. Is it possible? Maybe Garmin will add that option in a software update?

Its a few dollars, but the remote helps out tremendously.

Why don’t you just use pinch or unpinch to zoom with. Works just like a smartphone.

The moose speaks the troose. I use my iPhone to control the screens and it works great in choppy seas.

In calm seas I dont have a problem. Its when Im running to a another bottom spot and airbourne most of the ride. Pinching wouldnt work I would constantly be laying down waypoints I dont want. My phone is always stashed in my large glove box as everything is getting tossed, wet, and blown around.

Get the remote...It is very waterproof. My last boat sank at the dock and I was able to salvage most of my garmin gear. Still using the remote with the new boat. It can also be used with multiple screens. Now I just sit back and zoom in and out, love around on the screen, and steer the autopilot while kicked back relaxing.

It is small enough to wear on a landyard around your neck?

Yes it is. That's usually where I keep mine.

Its about 6" x 2" x 1" or so and comes with a lanyard and holder. I have the holder mounted to the console next to the throttles. I can zoom in and out without having top try to reach the screen.
