Do you have a link for the Lidar charts, I couldn't find them on the Garmin site. I've seen some Lidar images off of Broward County and they are incredible. I'd love to get Lidar of the treasure coast

This was released last week. IT is the Garmin compatibility with "Standard Mapping"....

And really has nothing to do with LIDAR. LIDAR uses light emitting lasers to give you a topographical "3D like imagery of the surface of the earth. Standard mapping uses improved Sat imagery and NOAA bathy data to formulate some highly detailed chartpgraphy.. cool stuff but not LIDAR.

Have any more details on what the High-contrast offshore elevation shading looks like off South FL?
Also the coverage area of the shading?
Interested but not finding much out there from the standard mapping or Garmin site on what to expect

Hey that’s Venice. Unfortunately SM isn’t releasing the card until January 1st. I’ll be there to pick one up that week.

I was going to order the G3 ? Is this something separate ? I'd love to have the relief shading offshore....not just the contours.

I'm very interested in this chip as I have always envied the Simrad guys with their CMOR offshore charts. I found the link on Garmin's site and they are working with Standard Mapping. There is not much info on the hi res offshore coverage, so I called Standard Mapping. They said that they only have hi res offshore maps for Louisiana at this time, but will be working on other areas in the future. Does this jive with what you have heard IM?
