Default Remaned C 80

Found a pretty good price on a C 80. Anybody ever bought any remanufactured electronics? If so were you satisfied and would you do it again?

Yep.........I bought a Raymarine re-furb chartplotter, it has worked perfectly. Does it come with a warranty?? Mine did, so there wasnt much risk.
If the dealer is reputable, and the price is right I would go for it............

What does "remanufactured" actually mean? Is it a new unit or a unit that was returned whilst still under warranty, the owner supplied a new unit and the "now old unit" gets a once-over from the manufacturer and then sent out as a remanufactured but new unit? ;?

Could be. Sometimes they're units that were broken and fixed, some were returned, some are units that might have been brand new, but the packaging was messed up, so they were returned, etc. etc. etc.

Most reman'd units come with all new accessories, so it's only the unit itself that may not be brand new. That being said, most are fully tested, and most come with the full manufacturer's warantee. If you ever have to send a unit back to a manufacturer, and they send you out a "new" replacement unit, chances are it's a reman'd unit as well... I bought a reman'd Raymarine DS600x for my last boat, and it was a GREAT deal and an awesome product...
