Default New from JL Audio

New JL M6 available soon. The M6 are a total redesign and will be replacing the M Series. They sound amazing and look good as well. Grill colors are mix and match for true customization.

The all new JL Marine Audio amps are really going to be something. These units will be digitally tuned via Tablet, IPad, or laptop via Bluetooth.

Will they have the same sizes as the M series or will they have an 8.8 size too?

Did they have any info on instruction or dealer training for the amp tuning software/app? That’s a little more advanced than just needing a small flat head screwdriver and a set of working ears.

Tuning digitally will gain you so much more from the system. We have a tuning challenge every so often and it shocks people. JL will be reaching out to authorized dealers regarding the tuning.

Good deal. I’m all for anything that not only makes my job easier but produces better results. Two more questions and I’m done. Thanks for your help Brian.

Did they give any timeline on availability?

Will this be a replacement of the M Series products or in addition to them?

Knowing JL these will be on their site sometime after next summer lol.

The new amps look incredible, based on the mobile versions that came out recently I guess. Anything that competes with WS power wise??

The M6 speakers vs M880 do I gain anything other than looks and RGB lights? Pretty happy with the M880’s.

I spoke to the jl guys at length and the speakers are all the same. New grills but same tech.
Amps are all the same as well with the ability to tune via pc. They also have MHD style plug ins and pass thru rca for mono amps. The 200/2 is gone and one new one was added but similar power figures.
The tuning software is like twek88 but with brightness settings for outdoor use. Pretty cool.
On a side note the new WS recon speakers are pretty cool and add a mx style line to WS.
Also there are two new cool amps coming to the sdx line.

Seriously doubt they will be ready by end of Q1? JL has never delivered anything on time (Just Late) but when the items do ship, they are impressive so I guess never hitting a delivery date doesn't hurt them.

If the speakers are the same, are the going to remain the same price or will them be more? If they are more, that would be sad as they are the most expensive already and by the looks of the pictures, you can see where they have cut some costs out. Hopefully the do not go up unless you get the new RGB but at the end of the day, how much does LED really cost? From what I have heard, if your LED goes out, you have to replace the entire speaker. That is a costly warranty to the manufacturer so that is definitely being added into the price. Not sure about the mesh tweeter grill compared to the injection molded one....definitely a cost savings and helps with with less obstruction on the highs but not a good look.

Not really sure that production ramped up, as they have to get through the current MX and M parts since they buy so much from China, while getting balancing the new products with the OEM market with a mix of SKU's available. From what I have heard, some speakers were shipping to select builders, while others were delayed for other builders to help get through parts inventory. The LED speakers were trickling in behind the other M6 products but the subwoofers were not available with the new grill yet. Sounds like they have finally got through all the M6 hurdles with colors, styles, etc. but the 12" subwoofer won't be available with the new grill for another year or so. That is just plain SAD. The most expensive woofer and your grills don't match....Not very OEM looking.

I know I may be different than most of the stereo folks on THT but I do not like the star type grills and prefer the old classic grill on a boat. Are they going to offer the class a grill on the new speakers?
