Default Furuno FCV600L Ordered Now time to install Need Help

I ordered a transom mount ducer with it, but am now reading here that it distorts above 20 MPH.

I am considering the Airmar Thru Hull (B45) for my Grady. I looked at the Airmar site at the cross reference guide and it listed a Sensor Part # 31-272-2-01 is this for temp?

Do I need a a fairing block? Is this 33-351 and 33-352?

What are the parts I need to complete this system. I only need temp and not worried about speed? Cost?

Is this a hard install. I have drilled through my hull before for a wash down pump. A little scary, but I can do it.

I have successfully installed transom mounts to read at speeds up to 40+ mph. Easier in a boat with the engine on a bracket, but on most fishing boats there is a good spot for mounting. I tend to go closer to centerline than the instructions specify in most cases. That being said, if you can thru-hull, do it ...

The B45 is for depth and temp. The 33-351-01 is the standard block for it, and the 33-352-01 is the high speed block. I got lucky and was able to mount the transducer right on the centerline of my Hydrasports. It read great as long as the boat stayed in the water. Not so lucky on the new one It craps out at 19 kts. I'm going to go w/ the high speed block in the spring.

I have the transom mount, works great up to about 20mph. then gets noisy. You may have to adjust the up and down on the transducer bracket. When you install make sure you place the screws in the middle so you have adjustment. Higher gain also has alot to do with noise. I mounted about 2" from the inside trim tab, little farther away from the outboard prop wash.
For the money the 600L is a great unit.

My transom mount 600L washes out at about 15 mph. All in all the unit is great I wished it worked at higher speeds but for bottom fishing it is the bomb

i own the unit
mounted on a 26 ft regulator, the unit has never washed out at over 40 knts..(ive been airborn but that doesnt count)..i too was concerned about the speed issue, but have yet to experience a problem with the transom mount, i have lost speed a few times , it craps out to zero then just fixes itself later on....not a biggy in my book

I have the transom mount, never had had a problem with it,even matches speed with the gps, maybe off 1 mph.,tops. Take your time when mounting the transducer.and use the cut out htey provide, hooked the whole unit up on my 26' Seaswirl in about 1 hr.

Fish or cut bait!!!
