Default help on repeater screen 10-12”, probably Garmin ?

looking for help/advice on a display screen for our cockpit. Boat has Garmin 8212 networked screens at the helm. Looking to tuck a display screen on the underside of the lid that’s for tackle storage in the cockpit.

whats the cheapest 10-12” screen I could get as a repeater so we can get sonar viewing in cockpit

Garmin 1042 will be the least expensive network device compatible with the existing unit.

Thanks Mike. If it’s just going to mimic one of the two screens at the helm does that make a difference ?

You could use a computer monitor or a TV if they could survive the environment and you could supply appropriate power.

by the time you get something sunlight viewable and waterproof I think you'll be a lot better off just buying another unit as suggested. you'll also get the added benefit of being able to control what you're looking at as well.

fwiw I wanted to do something similar and rather than mount something under a livewell lid or somewhere else in the cockpit, I just mounted the screen at the helm but hanging from the underside of the hardtop. way easier to install and you can still see it pretty easily from the cockpit. also comes in a little handy as a 3rd display while underway. if I had a great place in the cockpit to mount it I would have but all my options were going to be a ton of work/fabrication to get it to look good and be functional.

As someone who is eagerly awaiting delivery of a third MFD, I agree, but he asked for cheapest display. He could probably get a monitor for FREE.

True I guess that’s an option too but I’d like something more permanent and secure

The 1042 would be button controls and the 1242 if you wanted the option of touch or buttons.

1040xs would be cheapest option wouldn't it. I know its much cheaper than the 1042xsv.
