Default Raymarine Axiom, VesselView 903, VesselView Link Integration

I just replaced the electronics on my 2011 Sea Ray 350 Sundancer with Twin MerCruiser 377 MAG ECT Bravo III sterndrives with Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) and Axius Joystick. The Axius has Skyhook; Auto Heading," "Track Waypoint," and "Waypoint Sequence"

• SmartCraft VesselView 1.5 with a Mercury VesselView 903
• Raymarine C90W Chartplotter with a Raymarine Axiom
Axius has Skyhook; Auto Heading," "Track Waypoint," and "Waypoint Sequence"

How do I have the VesselView 903 interface and display the Axiom Autopilot system? Before I replaced the SmartCraft VesselView, I was able to see VesselView Autopilot screen for Precision Pilot.

The new VesselView 903 in the Vessel Control has Cruise Control and Troll Control. When Sky Hook is engaged the warning screen comes up on the VesselView 903. However, the VesselView 903 indicates that no Auto Pilot Computer is available.

Doing a network diagnosis using the VesselView 903, it shows NMEA 2000 is transmitting data; “CAN H” and “CAN P” is there but no data is reported; “CAN X” does not appear.

What is did I miss? How can I get the Axius autopilot to work and follow a route from the Raymarine Axiom?

following, I am trying to figure out the exact same thing with my dual VesselView 502's and Raymarine Axiom 12. I can use skyhook and course heading fine, but when I hit the route button on the joystick, it just flashed orange and beeps and doesn't do anything. I have the Navionics chip and have tried it with both a manually created route as well as an auto route.

How do you both have the Raymarine screens interfaced to the Simrad/VesselView displays?
They should be NMEA2000 together and under device list on either ones, you should see the other devices for interface.

The devices are networked through the NMEA2000; VesselView is sending engine information to the Raymarine Axiom screens. What I do not have is VesselView 903 recognizing the Axis joystick autopilot.

And you also have a VesselView link in the system?

Yes; there is VesselView Link in the system. When I engage the Sky Hook on the Axis touch pad, the warning screen pops up on the 903 which to me indicates that the VesselView 903 and the Axius are communicating

What engine information are you getting on your Axiom screen? Mine doesnt have much, but I believe both 502's and the Axiom are connected through the NMEA2000 but will need to verify as this was setup through the builder, not me.

To see the engine data that you should be receiving on the Axiom Display from SmartCraft, google "Axiom sample screens displaying engine management data" on the Raymarine Support Forum.

You have to select the Dashboard app to the see the engine data.

I think you will need to do this as follow :

1. Make a route on the Axiom
2. Launch the route on the Axiom
3. Shift the boat into gear
4. Press the « Track Waypoint » button on the Precision Pilot Pad
5. If you want the Merc AP to follow the route by himself, push the « Waypoint Sequence » button before you reach the first waypoint, and it should go from one waypoint to the other automatically.
6. If you want to acknowledge at every Waypoints then be sure « Waypoint Sequence » and « Track Waypoint »are not lite.

I don’t think you will be able to have the autopilot menu on your 903 because it requires the Axius Joystick v2.

Let me know if this helps.

You might have to get a Merc Installer out to validate the installation with their computer before route guidance can be followed. It has been a while since I had my SR310 with Axius - but major instrument changes at that time required "merc installer" to input a validation. I might be shooting blanks here - but I pulled out a lot of hair regarding Axius vs auto steering on my SR310.

Thanks we had the same setup on the 450 DA and it worked , didn't have the mercy guy out , but this was a different installer .
the boat isn't in that area and we found this not working en route, so trying to trouble shoot this through the forum, much thanks
