Default Humminbird 787C2 Combo Unit

I saw this unit and it has a very very bright display and looks great in the simulator mode and the specs look really good on this unit...any comments.

I have one at it's pretty good. I bought it to replace my matrix 37 but I'm still using the 37 anyway because it has all my co-ordinates in it. I find the screen to be too narrow compared to the 37. The display is excellent though. I bought it from jim at BOE at the best price I could find on the net. Some on here will bash Humminbird, but I've found the untis to be VERY good value for the money. Generally they're $100-150 cheaper than other brands. I've had my 37 for about a year now and have had no problems, I expect the same with the 787.

I also have the Matrix 37. It was compatible with the transducer from my 400TX. I hook my garmin 72 up to the Matrix 37 and now have a backup GPS plotter with waypoints etc.
The matrix gives a cool 3-D from behind representation of your boat location. I also like the size of the screen.

I highly suspect the gut of most humminbird components are pretty much the same. If you look inside you will see a one piece circuit board with a screen. What you get from product to product are features and power.

My main plotter is a Garmin 182C.

Humminbird makes good products. They have a responsive customer service department. I communicated with them about the compatibility of the Matrix unit with my older 400TX.

My units are B&W so I can't comment about any of their color products.

I'm with Twotems. Pretty good reliable unit for the money.
