Default Gamefish 25 Simrad Drivepilot Addition Help / Recommendations

I have a 2018 Sea Hunt Gamefish 25. I would like to add the DrivePilot kit.
Anyone done this that can share recommendations on locations for the heading sensor, pump and control box? Pics would be fantastic.

Thank you,

Brent

DrivePilot Kit might not be the right one for you...
you will probably need the Simrad Medium Pack with Nac2 system

From their description it is for boats under 30 feet with one or two outboards. Are there performance problems at the upper end of that range? I am just learning about thes so I appreciate the input. I certainly donít want to get this wrong.

I called Simrad and they steered me away from that product too. They recommended the AP 44.

Thank you!

Iím no expert, but you have to match your Autopilot pump to your searing oil capacity...

abd the drive pilot pilot is not big enough for you size steering, regardless it says good for boats upto 30ft.

i will be doing same install going with AP44. But not using Simrads pump... reviews on that pump arenít the best. SeaStar has a equivalent pump and itís half the price. Going that route should save you about $400-500 on total install too. and if you control you Autopilot with you Simrad screens in stead of installing AP44, you will save another $500.

Iím still doing a bit of research myself but looks like I will go the route as described above...

i plan on installing a WR10 wireless remote cause I troll a lot and I will still be much cheaper then purchasing a AP44 medium pack Nac2 kit

The capacity of DrivePilot and NAC-2 with RPU80 is the same. But I have no experience with how DrivePilot actually works with larger boats.

hey Abbor, Hope all is well.

I asked myself the very same question a year ago... and everything I found, the DrivePilot system would not work well will the above boat. Not that I tried it out but even Simrad recomended to go for the better one when I spoke to them a year ago as did The OP.

If you were going to use the autopilot for trolling you definitely wouldn't want to use the drive pilot. As a point A to point B pilot at speed it would provide satisfactory results. It is at the slower speeds that these smaller Pilots with lower price points provide unsatisfactory results.
