Default HDS 9 Gen 3 install...backup to Garmin 7212

I spent the weekend installing an HDS 9 so that I could take advantage of the network interface to my Motorguide Xi5 trolling motor. I chose to use a Ram mount instead of mounting it using just the supplied mount so I can move it if need be....Running the NMEA2K cable to the bow turned out to be a challenge.....but I figured it out after about a half day of fishing (with a fish tape not a rod) ......I have attached a few pictures....I am happy how the ram mount turned out and thought that someone else may be thinking about doing something similar so I wanted to post pictures of the end product.

Nice job

I'm considering adding an 840xs to my 1042xsv. Was thinking about using a ram mount also.

Thanks....the model that I used was meant for a 12" MFD.....it was $89 at Bass Pro....thought it was a little steep but when I got it out of the box it is very heavy duty.....I am glad I spent a little more ....good luck with your install/update.
