Default Furuno 588 / TM 258 vs TM 260 Transducer

I am about to upgrade to a 588 from a 620. I have researched use of the 1 KW transducer and arrived at as many questions as answers.
The 588 is 1 kW capable as a stand alone unit, it is my belief this is correct ?

I have two needs that I want to accomplish with this upgrade.

Viewing the top 200 feet of the water column searching for tuna in Oregon Coastal waters. Typically in water 800-1500 feet in depth

Bottom fishing in water from 60 to 300 to 400 feet. Primarily Halibut on the bottom and a long leader rockfish fishery that requires gear to be suspended a minimum of 30 feet off of the bottom.

My conclusion tells me the 258 may be better for these depths due to the beam angle. The 260 can work at greater depths but the beam will be quite narrow at the depths I have described ?

Are these conclusions accurate or am i misguided ? Let me know what I may be missing. I am not concerned about the price difference. I just want to make sure that I am making the right choice for my application
Thanks in advance for the advice.
