Default Electronics Decision

Hey guys, my 585 recently crapped the bed and I now have a decision to make. My setup was a garmin 8212 with a GSD 25 with a GT 51. I also had a Furuno 585 paired with a 744. On the network , I had a garmin 4210 and a GMD 24HD radar. As the title says, my 585 crapped the bed. I have looked around and I can have the 585 repaired for between 250-450 but at the end of the day, ive had it since 2009. I am currently redoing my dash to a flush dash so I will have the room for another 12" screen. I am currently leaning towards the furuno TZT2 12 as it will mate with my 744 and I like the looks of their new 3d tech. With that said, I also like the idea of being able to network another 12" garmin screen. Thoughts? Ideas? opinions? Budget is 2500-3000, so a new 7612 is out of my range. Hindsight, I wish I would have just bought two of te 8212's when they cleared them out last year. Thanks

Yes....You can use the 744 with a TZT..and later add the DFF3D....a good system
Furuno has rebates till the end of this month..

Have you considered a Garmin 1242xsv ..and with a Garmin wire block adapter it can use the B744.

The original poster has a budget of between 2500 and $3,000. The 3D technology from Furuno is not included with the tztl a k a the tzt2. 3D would require the dff 3D module end the 3D transducer blowing his budget right out of the water.

I like the garmin stuff but my pros and cons are as follows:

Garmin:

Pros:
Networks with everything I have

Cons:
Price
Not in my price range
will not work with my 744

Furuno:

Pros:
will partially network with my garmin
will work with my 744
*think* the dff3d will be better than the GSD25 with GT51
price

Cons:
will only partially network with my garmin stuff
multiple brands to maintain

What about the Garmin 1242xsv?
And a Garmin wire block adapter for the B744?

It will not work with your GSD25 but it does have an internal CHIRP sonar of its own so you can get a better transducer to work with it. You can operate both sonars at once.
