Default Small GPS/FF combo

Looking at a humminbird Helix5 for a new plotter fish finder combo (mostly used for the GPS) on my 18' bowrider. Any thoughts or other suggestions. Mostly looking for a decent combo unit that you can somewhat easily load map updates to for under $500.
I have played with Raymarine(e80) and garmin (3 something) on larger boats I have had but seems like the humminbird may be a simple inexpensive solution.

BOE has a special on the Garmin 840 that is pretty hard to beat. https://www.boemarine.com/products/g...onar-w-us-maps

I don't think you'll like a touchscreen on an 18" boat. Look at the Garmin 840, Hook2 7, Dragonfly 7 Pro. There are deals out there that should get you a 7 inch model for $500.

Any particular reason for all the Simrad love? I also took a look at a Dragonfly yesterday I liked it. Probably won't decide until after the holidays thou.
