ACR aqulink

Has anyone replaced your own betteries before in these? 150 is a ridiculous price, good idea to generate continuing revenue though.

These are your best last resort in an emergency. The places that replace the batteries have to test the units and may be liable if they do something wrong. The batteries themselves cost a decent bit.

It may be illegal to replace the battery yourself. I'd look into it further. Also shop around for replacement costs, some may be more than others.

One of the reasons the new ACR 2831 V4 is becoming very popular.

Simple user replaceable battery pack....with a 10 year replacement interval.

84 Boatworks replaced the battery in my Aqualink, and it was under $100. http://www.84boatworks.com/

Yep, when my aqualink battery is up, this is what I'm ordering.

The ACR Aqualink is a PLB, not an EPIRB

It does not appear that they currently have a PLB with a user replaceable battery

FWIW - In the past I have replaced my PLB in lieu of replacing the battery to get a unit with better features
