Question for Niece on Garmin/Sirius

BIL gonna get Garmin from his daughter, sent me a link on a GPS map 722 and GXM 53,
aside the two subscriptions (wx and Music) is there any other hardware needed?
Don't think the 722 supports sonar, is there a similar unit that does? You know he will want to add it later.....

No other hardware needed. The 53 is the receiver and antenna.

Great, thanks, any idea which is the next up model that supports a transducer?
He'd prob get a transom mount, 24 ft original Willard Albury, rides like a tank across the Exuma sound.

It is my understanding the 722 is non sonar and the 722xs has sonar.

This is correct. You can use a Smart Transducer though and get a depth number. Its a viable option if you don't fish.

I'm not up on the new series/model #'s, still running 4212's,
so the 722sx won't show the bottom pic?

722xs has a built in fishfinding sounder. 722 does not.
