Default Lowrance to Yamaha NMEA connection

Do I need a Lowrance 120-37 or red cable to connect to a 2010 Yamaha F70?

I bought the 120-37 but the plug does not seem to fit anything on the engine. Did I get the wrong cable?

you're so close - one more step -

now remove the protective cap that is on the engine connector

then your Lowrance connector will mate

Yes. Remove caps then connect those two.
