Default Axiom RV-3D depth effectiveness

can anyone on on here, from first-hand experience, tell me how the Axiom RV (not Pro) is performing on 3D, especially with the bundled RV-100 transducer? Considering purchase of an 12RV, and using the bundled TM RV-100. I'd like to know how deep they can actually get a useable return, in salt water in reasonable surface conditions, but also whether they are any use for scanning mid water bait balls in deeper water beyond their actual bottom scanning ability. Can they act as a side scan in deep water? Could be very useful trolling the deep water for billfish, if they could scan bait at 40-70 meters (130-230 ft)

No-one on here using them? I've seen a kiwi video, on a not-perfect ocean, where it is going quite well in over 60m .(200 ft) Appears to just hit the Lowrance and Simrad stuff outta the park...

howdy mate. funny seeing you here
the deepest we have been in is 30mt.. looking forward to actually having a trip where there is some deeper water :P

though from experience the best bait school detection still is mostly in the centre of the 3d cone outwards of about 20% each side of the boat.. not sure if this will improve with this mega update due soon.

Hey, i just lurk here and throw in the odd Antipodean viewpoint. :-) Our mutual acquaintance in WA is getting very close with his big install, RV220's are in, and the pocket to fit the 265 has been moulded up and glassed into the keel. Should see some real feedback in the next week.
Looking at the prospective new boat tomorrow and sea trialling one (hopefully) Saturday.
