Default Furuno sonar DFF1 vs 588

Does the 588 sounder have the same internals as a DFF1. Both hooked to the same transducer a B260, which would give better returns?

588 is the same as the DFF1 but the 588 has these enchancements: rezboost, bottom discrimination, and accufish. Both use the same Furuno DSP (digital signal processing).

I have a good bit of time with those units......

I have never been able to see any difference that is noticeable.......both give excellent results.

But I only used them for fishing past 300'.....never much in shallower depths...so there may be benefits from one over the other there ..etc.
