Default Garmin 7612xsv - What are your favorite features?

I've had my boat for a year now...and to be honest, I use the traditional sonar and the autopilot, and pretty much nothing else. What other features of this unit do you guys love to use, and how do you do it?

I'm considering upgrading to Chirp. What don't you like about Chirp?

If you're not using the chirp, you're missing out on one of the unit's strongest features.

The sonar mode is chirp.

Don’t use the side/down much, I don’t really understand it.

Side and down scan can take a bit of practice...but can give good bottom detail.

Side Vu is awsome to better understand the bottom type.
I use it a lot to understand were some rocks start in a sand bottom. Sometimes you can understand that you have like rock at left and right and sand in the middle. Thats were I want to squid fishing in the winter.

DoWn Vu an Side Vu is usually used to understand the bottom, but i allways use traditional chirp and Down Vu in my screen. There are some schools of fish that are so compacted in the bottom that you can be induced to think it is a rock or something like it and Down Vu will let you see that is not ss hard as the bottom or that has some part of the bottom.
