Default Connecting my Humminbird 858c and Raymarine SmartPilot X-5R

Hello,

Just bought a new (to me) boat with a Humminbird 858c and Raymarine SmartPilot X-5R with the ST6002 Controller.

I want to connect (or integrate) the two devices such that I can leverage the functionality in the autopilot that allows me to navigate to way points.

I know both devices support NMEA 0183, but I don't know how to connect them. Humminbird and Raymarine were not the most helpful, so I'm a little lost.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it easy? What do you need to do?

THanks.

PS - I believe both are also NMEA 2000 ready, but I don't think I need that - thoughts?
