Default Yamaha Tach Question

Hey guys!
I was into the back of my instrument panel today, preparing to install a new guage, and I noticed the adjustment screw on the multi-func tach guage was poining at 12 .
There is 4 settings; 4-6-8-12. Should'nt this be set at 6 for a 200hp V6?
The tach has always seemed to work fine, 600rpm idle in gear, 5200rpm WOT.
Is this supposed to be set at 12, or should I set it to 6 ?
Thanks for any help.
Tyee.

Default Yamaha Tach Question

Tyee,

The 12 setting inside of the tach is the pole setting. For most 200 hp Yamaha's the "12" position is the correct number for it to be set on.
