Default Coordinates help--simrad

I'm looking for info on how to get all my coordinates from all my different sources (old Garmin unit, maps, local books, notebook paper, found on my own, etc) to my new Simrad go9 unit.

I have downloaded gps babel on recommendation, but not sure what to do with it. It seems I have the raw data, and need it consolidated and digitalized to put into new unit.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And step by step instructions will get you a rum and coke on me if by chance you ever make it to Port Aransas.

Thanks

Boot gpsbabel
Convert all of your other formats from whatever they are to .usr

Once that is done, save the .usr files to a chip and import them to the gps using the files import command from the main menu.

That can be a chore to combine all of the sources into one. If you have them in electronic format, we perform this as a service to our customers.

Contact us on the website and we will try to help.

Just curious how that helpful offer works.
In return , do you add any new useful coordinates from those private files to your charts?

For the old Garmin unit it will depend on whether or not you have a unit that has an SD card or an older unit that has a memory stick.

For the hand written stuff you can consolidate into an excel spreadsheet and save as a csv file and then use a conversion software to change into a .usr or .gpx file

Happy to help and I have some software that can make conversion pretty easy if you run into issues.

Went through the same thing a few years ago. I downloaded Garmin Homeport and export everything as a .GPX file.
Never had a problem with the Simrad reading it and Homeport is easy to use.
