Default Simrad Go9 WiFi to Tablet

Has anyone used the feture on the Go9 that allows the screen to be broadcast to a tablet? I have tried with my Android phone and with an Android tablet and neither has been successful.

Not sure if it is my version of Android or what the issue is but have been thinking of picking up a cheap re-furbished iPad to see if ti works with iOS better but thought maybe someone here had some insight.

I use it on my s7 connected to a hds5x gen2 with wifi-1. I have now upgraded to a hds7 gen 3 and can mirror bot screens on the phone. I know its not exactly the same but is the same app and same core brand

You haven't indicated exactly what problem you are having connecting/seeing your screen. First, you do realize you have to use an app right? (sorry if that's offensive but have to start at the beginning).

Second your wifi can be set as an access point (other devices can log on to it) or to log in to an access point (say to download updates via your home wifi). So you may have a settings issue on the Go9.

I suspect it may be the latter. Are you able to see/log in to the Go9's wifi?

Hi Jim - Yes, i have the app on my phone and I have WiFi enabled on the Go9 and the phone can "see" the Go9 but will not mirror the image.

I will grab some screenshots next time I am at the boat.

Have you entered the wifi password so that the connection is established? It's one thing for your phone to "see" the wifi, another thing for it to log in.

If your phone has logged in to wifi successfully, the Go9 is set up to be an access point, and the app is still not seeing the device, then I'm out of my pay grade helping you.....

I connected to a new GO XSE this evening, and the first time I had to enter the IP address in the GoFree app manually. You find the IP address in the GO XSE WiFi menu. Use the Add choice in the app to get up the menu to add the IP address.

The next time I tried to connect GO XSE was visible in the app.

I'm using Android.
