Default Linking Garmin 5212 and 94SV

I've got a 5212 (no transducer) and a Garmin 94SV with transducer (package from west marine). I'm still waiting on the 94SV, and while I wait I am trying to understand the benefits/capabilities of linking the two together via the NMEA interface. Would I be able to mirror the chartplotter/fishfinder of the 94SV on the 5212? Should I set them up completely separate with the 5212 being a dedicated chartplotter and the 94SV being a dedicated fishfinder (backup chartplotter). I was hoping to get some info from guys with more experience so I can set this up right the first time and get the most out of this combo.

The 94SV has a NMEA2k port that supports in/out data packet flow. I don't believe it will send full blown video out to the 5212. There is no evidence of that in the manual.

Numerical data will share , not fishfinding.

Set them up with different transducers since they don't share any sonar capabilities thru the 2k network. Or use one as sonar/chartplotter and use the other as just chart plotter. Up to you and what works best for the type of fishing you do and what type of waters you fish.
