Default Will this work? Phone Video to Simrad?

With football season starting I hate having to choose going out on the boat or watching the game...

I have two Simrad evo2 16"s and two 7" on my build. The 16"s have video input for camera's so this is my plan

USB-C to HDMI
HDMI to RCA
RCA - Video to Simrad's & Sound to Fusion input.

Am I missing something? I know the resolution wont be 1080 or even close but if it works still worth it

That should work. Idk if you need the HDMI to RCA, I think those units have a HDMI input on the back but you wouldnt get sound. I know the guys do it on the biggers boats they have a KVH plugged into their MFDs

Default Hdmi...

Btw... The hdmi is an output... not an input. You do need the hdmi to composite video adapter.

I've tried it with my iPhone but Directv blocks the output to other sources somehow. I have a Firestick now and hoping to get that to work.

That's why you need to use the AppleTV 4th generation. DirectTV Now works perfectly. I'm also confident a jailbroken Firestick would be a great way to watch as well...

You can get most college games on the espn app and it will output to your screens just fine. Xfinity is great for regular tv shows... but they can not stream NFL games. $$$

All you need is a direct tv package or at least a login/password... 👀

It's super easy..
I have my system like this Apple TV>HDMI to Composite video Adapter>Simrad Video input
I use a small DC>AC power inverter to power the apple TV.. it also has a USB power outlet on it which is what I use to power the little HDMI to Composite converter. I run the audio from the hdmi converter to my aux in on my Fusion stereo system. I use an AT&T Mobley hotspot as my internet/wifi router... $20/month unlimited data. The cool thing is it also provides wifi for my simrad gear to update, etc.
The simrad solarmax screens are perfect for watching sports on the boat. The other day I even put netflix on my Simrad Evo3 using the apple tv. It's perfect. NFL football is right around the corner and I have the NFL sunday ticket app for my apple tv.

inverter here: http://a.co/2gC7Wyi
hdmi to composite video here: http://a.co/2k85voZ

Good luck!

Did you ever get this to work? If so, what was the final setup? Thanks!
