Default Resizing transom for new transducer...

Problem: new HDS needs a 1 inch hole, the last unit only needed a 3/4 inch hole.

Solution supplies:
1.) four inches by 3/4 diameter poplar dowel rod
2.) one inch hole saw

Center the 3/4 dowel rod and drill about half way into it with a drill bit same size as your pilot bit. Slide the dowel in the old 3/4 inch hole, then line your hole saw pilot bit on the predrilled hole, reverse your drill ( does less collateral damage to gel coat) then switch after a you have a start and keep it level and take your time...

In essence your using the dowel as a guide, this is what I did and it worked great. It's a variation of numerous ways to do this that I have seen posted, it's the predrilling the dowel that makes this work. Standard try at your own risk Yada Yada disclaimer.
