Interfacing simrad ap-20 with 7612

Default Interfacing simrad ap-20 with 7612

Like the title states we are haveing trouble getting the ap-20 to interface with 7612. Any one have any ideas how to get this to work.

From 7612, Power/NMEA cable, Blue wire is NMEA TX (+), connect this to AP20 Course Computer NMEA RX (+). From 7612, Power/NMEA Cable, Black wire is Ground, Connect this to AP20 Course Computer NMEA RX(-).
That is the wiring portion.
Set up on AP 20: Hold NAV/setup button down for 10 seconds to get into setup menu. right arrow over to interface, turn knob clockwise to get to NavData. Select whichever port you connected Garmin to. Select standby. If Garmin is putting out waypoint data, it should show on AP20 when you select NAV button.
