Default Good,Better,Best 6.5" coaxial speakers

Hey guys Loving the site so far. I have a couple of projects coming up. My own and some friends. Doing some stereo work on a few. I'm doing a Wet Sounds install on my pontoon(Revo 6's with a HTX-4 amp) so that takes care of the higher end for me. The other two don't want to drop that much coin unfortunately so I'm looking at something I can use off a basic Kenwood marine stereo. Trying to find something in that 75-100$ range and then something in the 150-200$ range. I realize its probably a waste to spend 150-200$on a set and not have them running off an amp but that will probably be added as soon as he hears mine. So potentially run them off the radio or amp. So many options that I've looked into. Rockford Primes, Punch's, Kenwoods, Sony, MB Quarts, Aquatic AV, DS18, Polk DB and MM's. Obviously looking at the sensitivity, frequency responce and power handling but specs can only tell you so much. Looking for real world experience. Thanks a bunch!!

I have Polk MM's and DB's. The MM's sounded fantastic running off the decks (Fusion MS-RA205) amplifier alone. Sadly, after 6 years on the exposed deck (fully open to weather, salt and sun with zero protection), 2 out of 4 of them had distorted.

I just replaced those 2 with Polk DB's and these were noticeably less bass and sound quality.

Another thing to consider about the Polk is that they are only in black and their grill have very big holes which kids may enjoy poking their fingers into.

The Best: Certainly JL Audio and Wetsounds own the top tier.
Better and Beneath the Best: Then you have Kicker, Rockford Fosgate, some Fusion models, and the Polk Audio MM series.
Good: Kenwood, Alpine, Infinity, Fusion dedicated marine speakers.
If you are in salt water or a brackish area, then scratch Polk Audio dB series off the list. Nothing about these are marine grade (other than Polk's own rating).

I have 2 year Kicker 6.5 forget the model number. But they have good out put running just off my head unit. So far they are holding up well to the elements. I got them 4 of them off Flea Bay for $160. Rag's

JL seem to be the best but they are cost prohibitive for my projects.

I have had Fusion, Kicker, Pioneer and MB Quart--as well as Duel, Boss and Pyle (don't really count these).

For my money the Pioneer Wet Sounds have been the best.

I have Kickers on my Bulls Bay and the Pioneers on my Skiff.

MB Quart in my redneck Bluetooth.

My JBL 10inch sub lasted 5 years. Have a Wet Sounds on order (was supposed to arrive today??).
