Default Simrad powers off randomly after update

I just did the latest SW update, and since then I have issues with the NSS Evo2 12...

1. Powering off randomly
2. Sounder losing bottom frequently, even at low speed and calm conditions
3. HALO radar "No Scanner" message

I would like to a master reset to see if that helps. Other than backing up waypoints, tracks, and routes, is there anything I should be concerned about? Does it change anything on other networked equipment like the RI12, AP24, etc? I have 2x NSS12s, so I will do them both.

Thanks.

I'm having the sounder issue, apparently Simrad is releasing a fix

I'm about to rip mine out and throw it in the water. Maybe one day Simrad will get it together so I can pull the Garmin out.

Yah, I gotta be honest, I am beginning to wish I had listened to my son and gone with Furuno, while I hate their user interface, it seems like they do not have as many of these types of issues.

When all is working together and reliably I love the Simrad, but it seems their update validation testing is not quite what it should be.

Are you using SonarCharts Live?

Nothing in the network will be changed by a full HW reset.

Which transducer do you have?

I am not using SonarCharts Live.

I am using a B175CW set to high chirp. When I set it to 200kHz it lost bottom even more frequently. Until this latest update we almost never had an issue unless we were running very fast (>40 mph)

Thanks!

Both are having the same issue?
Also at the same time?

I haven't been using Evo2 as sounder the last few times I've been out, only for radar and charts. But Evo2 and Evo3 should be very close in sounder performance and Evo3 has been very good at tracking bottom with both B175H-W and B75H. I will check out Evo2 the next time I go out.

I have one set to Master, so when it shuts down they both do. I'll change that & check.

I do not share sonar data between the two, as I have a high freq on one and and medium on the other.

The radar "no scanner" message will happen on either, but it will come back online.

Thanks.

Do you have a WiFi-1 adapter in the system? If yes, are both Ethernet ports used?

Rasbil
I am having the same problem with an NSO evo2 with two screens.
Simrad asked me to add a menu data showing my VSupply that appears to bounce around a lot. The NSO evo2 is backordered but is supposed to ship this week for a swap. If it is a software issue, I am not sure why they would swap the processor but I am willing to try. I now start a trip timer each time a power the unit up and have seen reboots from under 2 minutes to over 4 days. Baffling for sure.

It's a software issue, 4 boats and mine are having this same issue at my marina right after the update.

I haven't had powering off issues but I have noticed worse sonar performance after updating. I'm running b75m and two nss9 evo2s

I have the Vs showing on the menu bar as well, and also see a lot of jumping around, I'll see a 2.5V+ swing in a matter of seconds, with engines running and moving at a steady pace. Not unusual to see bounces from 12.3 to 14.1.

I have never had a high or low voltage alarm/

Rasbil,
I wired my unit to a Newmar DC-DC power supply. My meter shows 12.8 output. The NSO evo2 is showing 12.8-11.9 range. Simrad support advised the VSupply shown is more sensitive. ???
I am not seeing high or low voltage alarms either.

Mine rebooted 4 times on a 7 mile trip this weekend, and the radar went offline several times. On the way back, the MFD never rebooted, but lost Radar twice - either "No Scanner", or "No Spoke Data" or Interface box error, followed by "No Scanner". Continuing to have issues with the sounder.

All of these issues stared with the last 2 MFD SW updates, and the August/Dec 2016 Radar update, which were all applied over the last month.
