Default How to program private frequency into a Lowrance VHF?

I have a Lowrance Link-8 VHF. I need to program into it a couple private licensed frequencies for use by Sea Rescue group. Does anyone know how this can be done?

I would recommend contacting Coast Guard aux. You will more than likely need some sort of MOU with the agency who owns frequencies.

Unlikely, but Lowrance would know for sure.
If I were doing this, I would buy a used Motorola/Harris/Icom/Kenwood/Vertex/ taxi/police radio of the correct band split and program that to the correct freqs. Used radios are sub $100 and are type accepted for the service.

The Standard Horizon handheld HX370S is combination marine VHF and land-mobile and programmable, FCC type-accepted for both services.

I could be talked out of mine, since I've retired recently and don't need the multiple police freqs. I had entered...can't legally use them now...before that, I was carrying three radios provided by 3 agencies, which got to be a pain. Very unlikely Lowrance is certified for anything but marine.

I have the programming software (for PC only) but the programming cable is often stubborn and requires several tries. SH will not sell either to an individual, only to dealers, and dealers and factory will require proof that you have agency authorization.
