Default NSS7 EVO2 dead after batteries died?

I have a Simrad NSS7 EVO2 which I have used problem free for 2.5 seasons. The system is great and I love it! The unit is wired to power up and stay on as long as the battery switch is on. I stupidly left the batteries on for a few days and drained them down and now the unit will no longer power up. I cant believe that a few days of the unit being on would turn it into a paperweight. Anyone with a similar issue. The unit is out of warrantee by about 6 months. Thanks for any advice.

replaced one and recharged other. it charged up great but I needed to get boat out that day and just replaced the older of the two. all wiring is the same. Can undercurrent damage these units? I know it has a built in reverse polarity safety. Just called navico and the guy I talked to said he never heard of such a problem but I must have "Blown it up" then they offered to sell me a new evo2 unit because i'm out of warrantee

Sounds like a good time to break out the multimeter and start tracing the power to the unit. Have you already verified you have 12.5 +/- volts at the power connection going into the unit?
