Default Garmin 1040XS issues

I had the 1040XS installed connected to a B117 transducer. Both were installed by boat manufacture, operated flawlessly. Had an issue with the 1040 showing moisture in the screen. No issues with Garmin, they’ve sent me a replacement unit but now this same configuration is losing bottom. The replacement that I received had firmware 6.50, would constantly lose bottom. Low speed, high speed, didn’t seem to matter I tried messing with the autogain and that didn’t seem to do anything either. Got back in touch with Garmin, updated the software to the latest 6.60 (which my unit was at when I sent back, thought they would send one with the latest release??) Anyway, slight improvement but still losing bottom at low speed from time to time which I wasn’t with the previous unit.

My question is are there other settings that I should be tweaking to improve this that may have been set by the original installer?

Boat is a cobia 256cc with twin 150’s.

Thanks
