Default DFF3D A few shots from this Saturday

We still have more to learn but we had a good Saturday with the 3D.

First you can get a false reading if you are going to fast and the boat comes out of the water.
(first picture) we found our best speed was 14 to 18 kt. Our boat is only 26 and larger boats my be able to run with better results.

Other pictures are of a wreck then misc pics and some of what we ran over. the last picture is a boat we found. On that spot we learned marking the spot on the side scan is not the same as marking it on the history screen. I'm glad there was a track line to go back over.

We covered a lot of ground Saturday. We checked a lot of old loran conversion numbers. The side scan and history screen made it easier to see if any thing was in the area.

Next trip we will go deeper an I'm sure learn more. I'm very pleased with everything so far.

Since 3 meters is the limit for shallow reading what sounder would be recommended to use along side the DFF3D, something better than a NMEA 2000 Smart Sensor.

Thanks

If you want 3 meters of fish info...then a B60.....but for depth..then a Smart Sensor.

I assume the LF/HF shots are from the TZT2 internal sounder given that you have bottom discrimination on?

Keep the shots coming. I can't wait to check one out for myself!

No it is from a 265 LH . It shows the bottom better than the triple beam. We use the side scan and history screen to see around the boat and the 265 below.

I don't know all the hows but I think the 265LH is run from the DFF1-UHD and back to the TZ2. I know we cannot run the 265LH and triple beam at the same time. My son does all the set up. I just fish and say Hey, look at that.

WE sucked a 27 series battery dry in 3 hours the first time we used the DFF3D together with our old system. We had to run a generator Saturday to make the battery last all day.

Very promising indeed! What fish are those around the boat wreck?
