Default SIMRAD Aug 10th New Updates

I haven't noticed this posted here previously, so my apologies if it has been.

https://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-U...Functionality/

"Free software updates are now available for NSS evo2, NSO evo2, and GO XSE series displays.
These updates add a range of new functions, including new “control bars” that make it easier to take control of your autopilot or audio entertainment system at a touch without sacrificing valuable sidebar space when they’re not in use.

NSS evo2 displays and NSO evo2 systems also gain the new Heat Map chart overlay, which shows a history of surface temperature where your boat has been (a temperature sensor is required).
Colour coding can also be used to show data, such as boat speed or wind speed, along your boat’s track with the Colored Track option.
This update also includes new Search And Rescue features, along with various other feature and performance enhancements.
Software updates are also available for the S2009 and S2016 fish finders, S5100 sounder module, and StructureScan® 3D module – these updates enhance sonar functionality and performance.

Updates are available for download from the Support section of our website, or can be downloaded and installed directly to internet-connected multifunction displays.

NSS evo2 Software Update (v 5.0-57.1.207 )
Go5 XSE Software Update
Go7 XSE Software Update ( v 4.0-57.1.207)
Go9 XSE Softwrae Update
StructureScan 3D Software Update ( v 2.0-57.1.207)
SonarHub™ Software Update ( v 6.0-57.1.207)
S5100 Software Update
S2009 and S2016 Software Update "

They say release date : July 2017 , but I believe these are new versions The versions listed above ( ) are only the ones I downoaded.

(Note- If your GOXSE still has Autorouting from a previous vesrion , this GO update will remove it in the USA, so you may care to check the update features to see if you want to trade that functionality.)

If you want to use Plotter Sync from your tablet or phone, you need this update. Routes won't transfer over otherwise.

I created another thread....when I tried to install it I ran into a download error. Simrad might be having trouble with their servers.

For Plotter Sync, be careful your plotter matches the approved list. I had read an NSO evo2 with the GoFree Wifi1 could do Plotter Sync. When I verified it with Navionics, they advised me that it would not work.

I downloaded and installed StructureScan 3D Software Update ( v 2.0-57.1.207) today and find that my SS 3D is now scrolling super slow. That is like a third of the speed of my 175M at regular scroll speed.

You can do the autoroting using the Navionics app att a tablet and then use Plottersync to transfer the waypoints to the plotter.

Did you also successfully load the software update for whichever Simrad MFD you are using to display the SS3D?
I expect you did, but it makes sense the MFD and SS3D module have to have compatible SW versions . If so, it might be time for a call to Simrad tech support.

You are checking it when the boat is moving forward at various displacement speeds , right?

But apparently not with the NSS and NSS Evo2 units. NSS Evo3 and GO & GOXSE are Plottersync-compatible Simrad units though.

NSS Evo2 is supporting Plottersync, see NSS Evo2 NOS56 release notes. The WiFi-1 adapter is required for Evo2 Plottersync support since it doesn't have integrated Wi-Fi.

First generation NSS which haven't had a software update for years is of course not supporting this.

Twin EVO 2's and AP 24 (I think) with Optimus steering (no joystick)

Could an optimus update have impacted this?

The AP is not showing in the device list, but the boat is oriented correctly on the chartplotter. In the past if the rate compass was not calibrated, the boat would go sideways.

Thanks for any suggestions.

What a PITA. I assume someone blindly followed the auto-route and hit something, then sued and won a case against Garmin? So we all lose this very handy feature. My old chart plotter drew a straight line from waypoint to waypoint, even if it was over land. Funny, i never tried to follow the course over land with the boat, but i guess if you call it auto-routing it should be trusted ;?

Wonder how long it will be before we also lose it on our phones and tablets?
