Default SIMRAD autopilot questions

What all would I need to put autopilot on my 25' sea hunt with single yamaha f300 w/ hydraulic steering? going to use nss 16 evo3 as autopilot computer. Just NAC2, precision 9 compass, & rpu80 pump?

You would want to use a NAC-2 VRF corpack with RPU80 pump. I personally really find the AP44 control heads to be a huge benefit to control the autopilot. It just seems to make the process of controlling the pilot a lot more user friendly. If you decided to go with the AP44 controller you would want an AP44 Medium capacity pack, but if not the NAC-2 VRF corepack with RPU80 drive will work just fine for your setup.

Check out the new NSS autopilot control functionality before deciding about the control panel. It's not released for Evo3 yet, but it's out for Evo2.

It's funny abbor, I just sent out the update info sheet to a bunch of my customers and almost all of them couldn't tell what the updates are, haha! For those of us that see these units every day these are some really nice software updates. I guess they'll need to see them in action after I update their units.

The new autopilot and audio controls plus the heat map are the most important news. The heat map is really nice for trolling.

And something which is very important for me, it's now possible by pushing the rotary knob to switch back and forth between sonar sensitivity and color gain and also the radar controls. This is possible for first generation NSS and was possible for early Evo2 software. I've pushed to get it back and it's now included in NOS57 for Evo2 and it will also be included in the coming Evo3 update.

Yeah, 95% of my fishing is trolling and on one boat we have the evo 2 and the other a evo 3, and the heat map is going to be awesome since where we fish we have to really watch the eddy reports and because they're usually slightly delayed along with the fact that it's a 100 mile run to them usually, they move so having this feature will really be nice. And believe it or not I'm actually excited about the audio controls, I found the other way they had it so cumbersome that I actually added the wired remote for the BB300 on the one boat and switched to a 650 on the other but this will be nice to you can get to the controls fast i.e. coming into port to dock without fumbling through the screens.

Not trying to hijack the thread - but what the heck is this???? I could not find anything on this at the Simrad site or search.

As part of the Compulsory Service-Halo V
-Ring Seal Program detailed in Technical Bulletin TB- 93079 dated1st May 2017. Customers using a Halo radar made before September 2016 will encounter this message. It will inform them to contact Navico to arrange the radar to be swapped out.

It's referring to a technical bulletin, I don't have access to the technical bulletins but I assume one of the authorized dealers will chime in and tell us what's it about.
