Default S1000 / C80 Seatalk question

I have C80 with Raystar 125 connected via Seatalk with scotchlock connectors. I'm going to be adding an S1000 autopilot, and if I wanted to interface via Seatalk, do I just scotchlock all of the matching colors together? I've heard about a junction box, but do I really need it? Nothing in my documentation really talks about seatalk to multiple devices.

I have the NMEA out from the C80 into my VHF for DSC....so i'd rather not use that.

Default Re: S1000 / C80 Seatalk question

Just match up the colors. Thats all you need to do. I used seatalk and could not get my pilot to act right. It wanted to make a turn when activated. I cut the serial plug off and wired it to NMEA and it worked great after that. NMEA hookup only involves hooking 2 wires up, I think it was the orange and the blue from the autopilot, directly into the connection going to your VHF. I use DSC also and have no problem. I called a raymarine tech. and he told me the colors for nmea hook up. Sorry I can't remember. Hope this helps you.
