Default How best to wire 2 engines, 2 starting, 2 house batteries?

My current setup has two batteries and 2 switches. Each switch's common goes to one starter. either engine can choose battery one, two or all. I want to add two house batteies with each one having a charging wire from ONE of the motors. I believe, but I am not sure that Yamahas auxillary charging wire is isolated. Can I add a third battery switch that is on/off only and run batteries 3 and 4 paralleled all of the time with one charging wire from each Yamaha going to 3 and one to 4?

Do a search, or just scroll down and you'll see several discussions in the last few weeks on this topic.

I have read the post below. None of the post below are asking about 2 house bateris OR whether or not you can use the auxillary charging leads off of BOTH motors.

OK fine I'll throw a jab at it.

Yes, you can do just what you are thinking. But remember to tie all negative posts together with the same gauge wire as the starting cables.

Also the wire that you use to parallel the 2 house batteries must be large enough to handle the maximum current of all house the loads (it's the same premise as the negative lead that ties all batteries together).

Thanks for the stab (kinda sounds like an OJ attemt)I mean jab. Do you know if the Yamaha charging leads can BOTH be tied the paralleled house batteries or do they each need a method of isolation such as a combiner or isolator?

I cant so for certain, but I do remeber reading that they are isolated. But a quick call to Yamaha should put you straight.
