well, a couple areas where they are different:

-screen size (obviously)
-screen resolution (raymarine better)
-weather capability--garmin yes and raymarine no
-radar antenna selection--garmin only two (no open array) and raymarine excellent
-cartography--i would check this out more, it is a subjective thing...i prefer garmin here...and the 3210 has the entire country pre-loaded.
-sounder box performance--traditionally this would be raymarine, but garmin does have a new unit out that looks promising
-user interface--it seems to be pretty well established (though not unanimous by any stretch) that garmin is the winner here.

i am generally a garmin guy, but i think if i had the room for a c120, i may be swayed (screen size is a big factor to me). btw, you can get them remanufactured from boe and save some $$...

Read an article last night in powerboat reports on radar. Ray much better than Garmin on all tests. More expensive though. However the dealer I went to suggested that the 2kw from ray was equivalent to the 40 from garmin. Making the price equal. the garmin weighs alot more and installation and wiring tunneling can be a challenge. The charts are nicer though on the Garmin

agree with chgainsaw's assessment - might switch but I find the new update makes radar a bit better (acc to a friend who has RM 4 Kw) I also like:
1. update process via web for garmin
2. abailty to use same charts on your home computer and then transfer new routes and plans to plotter via a simple chip
3. garmin port expander easier to set up vs seatalk

but I do like the RM screen resoultion and brightness...
