Rainmaker,

I would not recommend one of those radios. Find yourself one by Standard or by ICOM. You will be much happier, and safer too ....

I agree, I have this radio and I am not real happy with it's performance. I will be selling it shortly and upgrading to a ICOM

202 Scout Sportfisher, mainly fish Point Judith, Block Island, and Charlestown, Rhode Island.

THanks, I'll take ya'lls advice and go with an ICOM . I'm going to hook-up the DSC to my Apelco 6700 GPS/LORAN . I called RAYTHEON and that was the radio that they rec. Would the ICOM M402S be a good choice. Both radios are mounted in the hardtop radio box and I have no need for "second station" operation that is offered on the M 402. The 402S is available from bethel-marine for 164.95 . I will be removing a UNIDEN 690 that has served as my primary radio for the past 4yrs.
