Default Yet another transducer question...

I've scoured around the old threads and haven't found the answer to my question so here goes. Is there a problem using a high speed thru hull transducer with a boat that is trailered? I've never seen one installed so I have no idea how they stick out on the bottom of the boat. Also, what would you expect to pay to have one installed?

Yes you can put them on trailered boats. Just finished the installation of mine Friday. How much would someone charge you? Don't really know but if you figure in the PITA factor I would count on 2-3 hours labor to do it right. L8tr, Mike

Have a high speed faring on my boat on a trailer, no problem, Check alignment with bunks or rollers, move transducer or bunk or roller as needed.

hey Tex,

I'll be mounting the Airmar B45 with the high speed fairing on my 2320 very soon. Do you have any suggestions for placement? I plan to mount through the "pad", 2-3' fwd of transom (just aft of fuel tank). Can you get good soundings while on plane with your set-up? Thanks!

Dan- I just had a Furuno 600 with thru-hull transducer installed on my boat at Shield's in St. Marks. $125 for the whole job.
