Is the Max Pro for the Northstar 8000i compare to the Navionics Platinum for the 6100I?

Navionics blows c-map max away.

If you have a choice, go with Navionics.

I am stuck with c-map, just upgraded to the max and the photos are
not nearly as helpful as you would think. My first impression was they
stink. There are not that many and the angles taken could have been
better.

If a buoy is a flasher, the marker as shown on the screen flashes in the
same sequence as the real one. You would think this would be helpful but
I find it annoying having things flashing at me on screen.

One good thing I did find helpful was the cmap max now has current
indicaters ...nice but clutters the screen.

The perspective view is a novelty - doesn't really make much of a difference.

If you have not yet seen the navionics, go see a demo and there will not
be any question in your mind which way to go.

I prefer the c-map max over the navionics gold. The Platinum does have lots of extra bells and whistles, but I don't know how much use they actually are.

c-map wins (for me) on cost of updates, marina information, layout, customer support.
