Default Lowrance Elite-7ti questions

I've got a smaller Lowrance unit on my boat now and I'm going to upgrade to the 7" touch screen with the Elite 7ti. Of those of you that have used the unit, could you give me some feedback on this unit? I have considered other units, but this is the only one that has on-screen PowerPole controls, which is the biggest selling point for what I do on my boat.

Hey I installed the unit spring of this year I absolutely love this unit I am big into stripped bass fishing and I must admit the down scan view has helped me catch more fish to the point we would do a drift and I could tell my buddy I was with to get ready to hook a fish cause it's so clear on the screen I also like that it is touch screen but also has some buttons for the rough days in the ocean my only complaint is I think my unit is defective it will randomly lose the transducer I have it set on and I have to reprogram it

I have a number of units including an Elite with Chirp, HDS and Simrad. The software running my elite does not allow me to turn off individual map layer categories, the interface is all push button and the unit is very slow compared to the HDS line. Navico advised me the Elite will not allow the user to manipulate Categories. I find the elite to be the bottom of the Navico line and never use it on a boat.

Elite-Ti is the Lowrance equivalent to Simrad GO XSE and has nothing in common with the previous Elite series except the name. It's actually closer to HDS Gen3 than HDS Gen2 Touch. The previous Elite CHIRP is renamed Hook.
