Default Sonarhub vs. BSM-3

What are the benefits of either a Sonarhub or BSM-3 on a boat with dual Simrad's NSS, AIrmar B75M and a Totalscan transducer?

If your NSS's are Evo2 none of them makes sense, connect the transducer directly to one of the NSS units. If you have first generation NSS add SonarHub. No reason to go for BSM-3 unless you fish larger depths (which I assume you don't since you have a 600W transducer) or need dual channel transducer.

Yes, it's an evo2... So, neither of these units amplify or improve performance except with deeper targets?

NSS Evo2 has the SonarHub module integrated. What's limiting your performance is B75M, you need a 1, 2 or 3 kW transducer if you need a more powerful system.

The Sonarhub is rated at RMS 500w. What is the power rating on the nss evo2 unit?

It's the same sounder electronics in both, the power will depend on transducer impedance. I measured NSS Evo2 to 1 kW yesterday together with a 1 kW transducer using an oscilloscope.

Hi, do you know if Hds gen3 has same sonar electronics with evo2 and SonarHub?
Some people believe the SonarHub has different and better performance using chirp, is that true?

Could you please explain ?
Do you have compared side by side ,
or you have info about different specs and hardware?

Which depths do you fish? I don't expect any difference at 200-300m and less, it can be at larger depths. After Christmas I will know as it's on my plan to compare the transmitted signals for most Navico sounders.

I have tested NSS Evo2, HDS Gen3 and SonarHub (I have all three) on the same trip without noticing any difference at 100m and less. At larger depths I prefer to use BSM-2 (with sw v3.8).

Thank you Abbor ,

So I am waiting for your new tests and results between HDS, ev2 and sonarhub.
