Default What sound system????

I already have 6-Rockford pm262 and 2-Rockford pm282 and a 12" infinite baffle JL woofer. What is the best amp to push all this or do I need 2 amps? The boat has 3 batteries as of now. Thanks for any input.

You need to tell a bit more about your boat, volume requirements, multi-zone requirements, and speaker locations. Are these alloutdoors or are some inside the cabin? Are you set on having 4 pairs of speakers or would you be willing to go to 3? What head unit are you using..?

This is a 34' fountain center console. I am stuck with 4 pairs of speakers bc they r already installed in the boat and holes r cut. I will be putting a new amp in the boat and adding the 12" woofer. Sorry for lack of information.

I believe 83 was asking the question for the same reason I would ask the same question. Not how many total speakers but where each and every speaker is located in determining the need for control, need for gain balancing, and need for the number of zones, and thus the total number of channels required, plus the ideal distribution of power.

For a start, with the speakers mentioned you are probably looking at two amplifier chassis.

Off the top of my head the jl m800v2 would be good.
Run the 6.5's 4ohm. Run the 8's bridged. I have installed quite a few of those and they can handle the power. Actually sound really nice with level of power. Run the 10 bridged. That would be an easy

I would run much more than 200 watts to the JL Audio IB 12". Recommending between 400 and 600 watts. For two reasons and here's why. First, the IB 12" has around 60% more voice coil circumference than the 10" for instance. That means less sensitivity (more accurately stated as internal efficiency) out of the gate but far more power handling down the stretch. The additional power handling allows for longer excursions and ultimately more output. So you want to see some additional benefits from the 12" and that will definitely require more power. Second, you want to balance the lowpass output of a single subwoofer with the highpass output of eight total satellites. And that will certainly require a higher power level. Which brings us back to the particular boat and speaker locations as the final determining factor in the balance of power.

Swear to god I saw ib10. Got to lay off the hot sauce.
The ib12 like between 4 and 600 watts.
Wetsounds Sd6 if you want to keep a single chassis amp.
