Default 2 batteries ... battery Tender, one or two banks?

Hi guys,

during the winter season, I am keeping my batteries inside my home and I would like to put a battery tender on it.

I have two batteries ...

1. An engine battery (starter battery)
2. An electronic battery (Deep cycle 31 battery)

I was wondering. Since the two batteries are not exactly of the same type, can I connect them in parallel and use a single bank battery tender? Or I should use a two banks one?

I am asking here because there are lot of experienced people here, and the opinion on this is very divided on the internet in general.

Thanks guys!

Considering the fact that battery tenders are so cheap these days why even risk it?!... Just get 2 battery tenders, one for each battery and be done with it...

the tenders probably have a max AH rating on them. which is probably only one battery. depends on tender size

Use two bank tender. Part # 022-0165-DL-WH. Doesn't matter if batteries are the same or not. Unit has individual circuitry for each bank. Each bank puts 1.25 amps and you can wire both banks to one battery and get 2.50 amps for a little quicker charge. Neat little unit.

Just put the 2 bank tender on my skiff for the trolling motor batteries. Charges them overnight and all ready the next day for fishing. My 28ft cc has a 4 bank and it works great!
