Default Updating simrad software

I have a new Simrad setup with the following items:
1) NSS EVO2 12
2) AP24, AC12
3) Structure Scan 3D
4) Lowrance 4G Radar

I would like to check/update the software on these items. What is the best way to do this?
My understanding is these are the options.
1) Download to sd card and update from NSS
2) Connect via ST10
3) Connect via Gofree and update from NSS (do not have a gofree but could install one if needed)

Your radar is up to date, it's years since the last software update.

Only the autopilot and other NMEA 2000 (non Ethernet) devices can be updated using ST10. I have access to all three methods and I prefer using an uSD card in NSS.

Abbor,

I have two NSS12's....Radar and AP (thought the NSS12)....is there anything major that I should do an update. I am hesitant to do this....or if I did do an update....am I gonna see anything different or major changes? the units are 2015's. If it is worth the change...were would I find the information to do this.

Every version has added functionality, improvements and bug fixes so it's a good idea to always have the MFD updated.

NSS Evo 2 update Aug 2016: http://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-US...ads/NSS-evo-2/

AP24 & AC12 & 42 update Aug 2015: : http://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-US...ftware-Update/

SS3D update Aug 2016: http://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-US...uctureScan-3D/

( 4G Dec 2012: http://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-US...adar-Software/

RI 10 (radar module/hub?) July 2012: http://www.simrad-yachting.com/en-US...4-0-and-1-4-1/ )

Easy enough to check the versions in those links against version on your device units.
Then download desired updates to your computer and to micro SD card and to your NSS12 Evo2 .

The downloading and updatings only take 15 seconds or less each. The device menu should read the memory card and let you know which device files have newer versions available for transfer. Select each one , one at a time, and update.

Can't hurt to install a separate micro SD card 1st and backup WPs & routes ( good to have anyway) then remove that card, but the subsequent updates shouldn't affect those items.

The NSS evo2 contains a list of all the most recent software updates. If you make sure the NSS evo2 is up to date you can use it to check all the other devices on the network.

It won't contain any updates that have been done since the NSS evo2 release was done, but you'll know everything is up to date to then.
